Terms of Service

Last updated: May 25, 2026

These Terms govern your access to and use of Reverie, a web service for collecting photos and videos through private galleries and QR-code access links.

Provider

Reverie is operated by Christoph Schmatzler, trading as Leuchtturm Software, Bornhövedstr. 17, 23554 Lübeck, Germany. You can contact us at christoph@schmatzler.com.

The service

Reverie lets event hosts create private event galleries, invite members, generate QR-code access links, collect guest photos and videos from a browser, display gallery previews, download original media, manage prompts and event settings, and request media deletion. Guests may be able to access an event gallery from a valid access link without creating a personal account.

Eligibility and accounts

You may use Reverie only if you can legally enter into these Terms. If you use Reverie for an organization, event host, couple, client, or other third party, you confirm that you have authority to act for them. You are responsible for accurate account details, secure credentials, and all activity under your account or access link.

Hosts, guests, and access links

Event hosts control their event, members, QR codes, access links, and guest access. Anyone with a valid access link may be able to view or upload event media, so hosts must share links carefully, revoke links when needed, and provide any notices or obtain any consents required for the event. Event access links and QR codes are credentials; if they are printed or publicly visible while the gallery is enabled, anyone who scans or opens them may view uploaded event media. Guests must respect the host, other guests, photographers, and people shown in photos or videos.

Your content

You keep ownership of photos, videos, filenames, event information, prompts, feedback, and other content you upload or submit. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, copy, process, transmit, display, back up, transform into technical previews or variants, and otherwise use that content only as needed to provide, secure, support, and improve Reverie.

Content permissions

You confirm that you have all rights, consents, and permissions needed to upload and share your content, including rights from photographers, event participants, and identifiable people where required. Do not upload content that is unlawful, infringing, non-consensual, abusive, private beyond your right to share, exploitative, or otherwise harmful.

Acceptable use

You must not use Reverie to:

  • break the law or violate another person's privacy, publicity, or IP rights;
  • upload malware, spam, harassment, hate, exploitative, or non-consensual content;
  • upload sexual content involving minors or any content exploiting children;
  • scrape, harvest, or misuse data from other users, events, or guests;
  • attempt unauthorized access or interfere with the service;
  • share access links in a way that makes a private event effectively public; or
  • use event storage as general file hosting, backup, archival storage, or CDN hosting.

Uploads, limits, and retention

Individual uploads may be rejected for size, type, security, billing, or abuse-prevention reasons. Reverie currently accepts image and video MIME types up to 250MB per file. Unpaid or trial usage may have upload limits. Event uploads are blocked if the latest upload for that event is at least 28 days old, or if the host finalizes the event by requesting a full-gallery export. Event media is automatically eligible for deletion 12 months after the most recent upload unless deleted earlier by deleting the event or other lawful action.

Plans, payment, and merchant of record

Paid purchases are handled by Polar as merchant of record. Polar may provide checkout, payment processing, tax calculation, invoices, refunds, and customer portal functionality under Polar's own terms and policies. Prices and plan details are shown in Reverie or at checkout. Statutory consumer rights, including mandatory withdrawal, cancellation, refund, and warranty rights, are not limited by these Terms.

Availability and backups

We use reasonable care to keep Reverie available and protect uploaded content, but the service may be interrupted, changed, delayed, or discontinued. Reverie is not a permanent archive or backup service. Hosts and guests should keep their own copies of important photos and videos.

Moderation, suspension, and termination

You may stop using Reverie at any time. We may suspend or terminate access, remove content, revoke access links, block uploads, or delete media if required by law, if you breach these Terms, if payment fails, if an event creates legal or security risk, or if use of the service harms Reverie, other users, or third parties. Sections that by nature should survive termination continue to apply.

Our intellectual property

Reverie, including our software, design, branding, website text, and service content, is owned by us or our licensors. You receive only the limited right to use the service under these Terms. You may not copy, reverse engineer, resell, or exploit the service except as allowed by law or with our written permission.

Third-party services

Reverie relies on third-party providers for hosting, storage, database infrastructure, synchronization hosting, analytics, feature flags, diagnostics, authentication, email, billing, and payments. Their own terms and policies may apply to the parts of the service they provide.

Warranty

For consumers, statutory warranty rights apply. Outside mandatory rights, Reverie is provided with reasonable care but without promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure against every threat, compatible with every device or browser, or that content will never be lost.

Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body, or health, guarantees, fraudulent concealment, product liability, or other liability that cannot legally be limited. For slight negligence, we are liable only for breach of essential contractual duties, limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of contract. Mandatory consumer protections remain unaffected.

Dispute resolution

We are not willing or obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve issues directly. The former EU Online Dispute Resolution platform was discontinued on July 20, 2025.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany. If you are a consumer, you also benefit from mandatory protections of the country where you live, and mandatory rules on jurisdiction remain unaffected.

Changes

We may update these Terms when Reverie, our providers, pricing, or legal requirements change. Material changes will be communicated in the product or on our website where appropriate. Continued use after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
